Howdy Modi: 'Trump, Modi sharing stage a big slap to Pak PM'

Shalabh Shalli Kumar on Saturday stated that President Trump sharing a stage with PM Modi at the Howdy Modi event is a big slap to Pakistan PM Imran Khan.

Former advisor of the Trump campaign, Shalabh Shalli Kumar on Saturday stated that President Donald Trump attending the 'Howdy Modi' event and sharing the stage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a 'big slap' to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. According to him, Trump attending the event is a huge endorsement of India by the US administration.

On Trump meditating in the Kashmir issue 

According to the Indian-American industrialist, he stated that the mediation was just an 'off the cut remark'. He further clarified the United States administration and President Donald Trump's position, stating that their stance has been clear since day one. Kumar further stated that the US and Trump have been clear since the time the American President had said that they love Hindus and if India is elected then the White House will have a best friend.

On trade issues between India and the US

Speaking about the difference in trade issues between India and the United States, Kumar stated that there are no major disputes between the two countries, except for a few. According to reports, ahead of the Howdy Modi event, the two countries will be negotiating a limited trade deal at the United Nations General Assembly in the coming week.

'Howdy Modi' event

PM Modi landed in Houston on Saturday (local time) for his week-long US visit. He will deliver his address at the 'Howdy Modi' event on September 22 at the NRG Stadium in Houston. According to reports, around 50,000 registrations have been made for the event. The stadium can accommodate 72,220 people at any point in time. Further, US President Donald Trump will be attending the event and also sharing the stage with PM Modi. The event will focus on the success of the Indian-Americans and their contribution to the US, as well as on the US-India relationship.
