I belong to the 'Bharatiya Janata' first before owing allegiance to any party: BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha

Disgruntled BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha on Tuesday took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah, saying that the party (BJP) had become a "one man show two man army".

Disgruntled BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha on Tuesday took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah, saying that the party (BJP) has become a "one man show two man army". Shatrughan Sinha, while addressing a function in his Lok Sabha constituency of Patna Sahib, asserted that he belonged to the “Bharatiya Janata” (Indian public) before he owed allegiance to any party.

Furthermore, former Union minister Yashwant Sinha, speaking at the function said anybody speaking the truth nowadays was being dubbed an "anti-national" and asserted that "if that is the case, please count myself and Shatrughan Sinha as topmost among anti-nationals."

This comes after Republic TV had learnt that former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha and BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha are in talks with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the upcoming 2019 elections. Top sources have told Republic TV that Yashwant Sinha can contest from New Delhi seat where as Shatrughan Sinha is expected to fight from West Delhi seat.

However, the AAP hasn’t yet come out officially to confirm the reports, but if sources are to be believed the discussions are on with the top brass of AAP. The sources also said that AAP chief and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is in direct talks with Yashwant Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha.

Both Yashwant Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha have been the ardent critics of the ruling BJP dispensation. Yashwant Sinha, quit the BJP officially on April 21, 2018 after rebelling against the party for months. While announcing his decision to quit the BJP he had said that he will not be joining any political party anytime soon.

Shatrughan Sinha, on the other hand, hasn’t yet quit the BJP, but has been one of its harshest critics. Whether it’s about demonetisation or PM Modi’s foreign trips, Sinha has never minced words while bashing his own party.
