Online taxi services come handy when you are looking for intra city, and also inter-city rides providing hassle-free ride experiences. However, no one thought that they would be able to book international rides, that too at dirt cheap prices.

In the last weekend, many Bengalureans opened their Ola apps to a good news, that they could schedule rides from the city to international destinations like, North Korea, New York, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Norway, Las Vegas and Great Wall of China.

On Saturday, a Twitter user posted a screenshot of the Ola ride scheduled from Bengaluru to North Korea. And, interestingly, a 5-day-round trip of 13,840 Km was expected to cost Rs 1,49,088, according to Ola’s estimation.

However, later Ola responded that it happened because of a technical glitch. It also asked the Twitter user to restart the phone. But this did not solve the issue. Soon after, more users shared screenshots in the following days of their bookings from Bengaluru to New York, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Norway, Las Vegas and Great Wall of China. All of them round trips costing in the range of Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 6,00,000.  A good deal, only if it was true, as the trip would have costed much cheaper than that of the flight fares for four people.

Later on Monday Ola put out a witty tweet on its Twitter handle saying, “When we said we wanted to shoot for moon, we didn't literally mean it ;) However, while we fix this issue, you can always take a flight to another country :).”
