A tragedy was averted in Mumbai on Monday night after an IAF aircraft overran a runway while departing from Mumbai Airport.

An Indian Air Force (IAF) AN-32 overran runway 27 while departing from Mumbai Airport for Yelahanka Air Force near Bengaluru, Karnataka. The incident happened at 11.39 pm. No injuries have been reported.

Runway 27 at Mumbai Airport which it overran isn't available for operations.

 Airport authorities have said, "We confirm, departing Air force Aircraft had runway excursion at 2339 hours at RWY 27."
