Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria delivered a speech on the 87th Foundation Day celebrations of the Indian Air Force at the Hindon Air Force Station in Ghaziabad. In his speech, he congratulated all the members of the force, the veterans, and the families. He also thanked them for their contribution and complimented them for a good show prior to the speech.
The Air Chief Marshall also mentioned how, in recent years, the geopolitical scenario is changing, because of which the force has to be alert and be proactive in its' measures.
He was quoted saying, "In recent years, the geopolitical environment has been rapidly changing. And uncertainties have created numerous challenges in national security It is extremely important that we are always vigilant and alert to the existing sub-conventional threat." RKS Bhadauria also mentioned the achievements of the Force over the last year.
He said, "In the year gone by, the Indian Air Force has demonstrated it's resolve and capability in punishing the perpetrators of terrorism and we need to be ever prepared to meet any contingency that challenges the defence of our country. We acknowledge the contributions of all personnel of the commands involved in the stations and units who silently and professionally contributed to the airstrike of Balakot earlier this year."
The Marshal spoke about how all three major organs of the Air Force are working together in a smooth manner for the functioning and that the efficiency should also improve. "It is noteworthy that all the organs of the Indian Air Force - operations, Maintainance, and administration are working tirelessly with absolute synergized approach to attain high levels of efficiency. We need to continue to enhance our op capability in a similar manner to improve serviceability and training", he added.
Bhaudria also mentioned that the IAF has further expanded its participation in bilateral and multinational exercises. "With the air forces of friendly foreign countries, we demonstrate to the world our growing strategic reach and power projection capabilities. These exercises have mutually benefitted all participating nations." India and the US recently participated in a two-week-long joint military training in the USA. India will also participate with Russia in a bilateral military exercise, Indra-2019, in December 2019.
