The Indian Forces who always make us proud be in the country or overseas keep us giving more reasons to celebrate them and their successes.

The latest tweet by the Indian Air Force reminds us about the Force's never-dying spirit in the face of a challenge.

The IAF account on Sunday tweeted informing that Wing Commander Shantanu who had won a gold medal at an event organised by Paralympic Swimming Association of Maharashtra will be attending the World Asian Para-Rowing Competition to be held in South Korea in October, 2019.

Hailing his determination, will power and 'never say never' spirit, the IAF said that he is the first Indian ever to represent the nation at Para Rowing event. The IAF also lauded him for representing the never-give-up attitude of an Air warrior

The story of Wing Commander Shanranu is truly inspirational. The 39-year-old had met with a road accident on January 24 when he was posted at Hasimara Air Forcei n West Bengal that left him paraplegic. The accident had occurred when he fell from his bike into a roadside ditch while commuting to the Air Force Station. he was paralysed below his chest owing to the incident.

Showing remarkable mental and physical strength, the very next year, he won two gold medals at the state-level swimming competition organised by the Paralympics Swimming Association of Maharashtra.  The credit also goes to the Forces who enabled his rehabilitation by providing him as he was treated at Spinal Cord Injury and Rehabilitation Centre (SCIC) at the Military Hospital Kirkee in Pune and encouraged to get into the sports by other officers who had sustained similar physical injuries.

Shantanu is now going to represent the tricolour globally in the Para-Rowing event later in 2019.
