Major Gaurav Arya (Retd.), welcomed the release of representational Balakot strike video by the IAF, and said that it is a good thing.
He said, “I think it is a very positive and a welcomed step simply because it is high time that we started speaking about what we have done. Most of them believe that let our actions do the talking but in today’s world where social media and mainstream media is so active, it is also a weapon of war.”
He added, “And I welcome this video. I have not seen this video but I am aware of the contents of the video and the thought that the Chief said that we have attacked Balakot and that we downed an F-16 is a reiteration of the victory song.”
“I welcome this and I think it’s a great step. I think we should make more such videos and spread awareness among the people and also amongst the enemy because the enemy has been fed on a certain kind of propaganda and this will come as a breath of fresh air.”
While talking about the video, Major Gaurav Arya said, “This is not Pakistan where the Pakistani army launches Kargil and does not think it's important to inform the Prime Minister of the country - Nawaz Sharif. This is India. Everything we do will not be done without the permission of the Government of India.”
“It is a great thing that the Army, Navy, Airforce, and the Government are in perfect sync. The government has taken an aggressive stand and this is something we need to applaud.”
Major Gaurav Arya’s comment came after the Indian Air Force (IAF) released a representational video displaying the courage of the IAF soldiers during the February 26 Balakot airstrike, in which the largest JeM terrorist camp in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was destroyed. The Balakot airstrike was in response to the February 14 Pulwama attack.
