IED terror attack on Army vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama

As per reports, an army vehicle in Arihal village of Pulwama has been attacked with IED, months after the ghastly terror attack on CRPF convoy.

Update at 10:50 PM:

The driver, co-driver and one other person who was in the cabin have sustained serious injuries. The Jawans in the body of Army vehicle have been referred for preliminary medical investigation. An analysis of the vehicle carrying the IED is underway

As per the reports received, in Arihal area of Pulwama, one mobile patrol vehicle of Army moving through the area suffered damages due to an explosion.

Area has been taken into cordon and search in the area is going on.

Six Army Jawans have sustained injuries in the terror incident and are stated to be stable.

Moreover, 2 civilians also sustained injuries due to this explosion. They were evacuated to hospital by the Jawans and are undergoing treatment.

Police has registered a case and is investigating the circumstances of this terror crime.

Update at 8:41 PM:

As per sources, the SHO Pulwama displayed bravado as he evacuated a civilian, namely Ab Ahad Mir of New colony Arihal, injured in the Arihal IED blast, amid heavy gunfire at the site of the attack. The SHO, along with his escort, braved raining bullets and made sure that the civilian was safely evacuated and taken to the hospital. The civilian was injured by a splinter from the IED blast.

Update at 7:40 PM: 

The attempt to attack the Army convoy at Pulwama has not succeeded, as per sources that added that the IED that was used for the attack was vehicle-based. The troops aboard the convoy are safe. A few have sustained minor injuries. The area has been cordoned and search operations are underway.


An Army convoy came under attack by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Arihal village of Pulwama, J&K, on Monday evening. 

As per sources, a vehicle of the 44 RR was targeted, with the casper vehicle getting damaged in the attack.

The attempt to use an IED to attack an Army convoy comes just over four months after the horrific Pulwama terror attack on February 14 in which 40 CRPF Jawans had been martyred in an attack perpetrated by the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).
