Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday, while addressing a gathering during the annual Dussehra rally in Shivaji park, spoke about the Me Too campaign, which has taken the whole country by storm. Terming the movement as a serious issue, the Shiv Sena Chief said, “Whoever is the culprit, that person should be hanged.”

Assuring the victims that they have got the support of Shiv Sena, Uddhav Thackeray said, “If anyone harasses you, slap them right away. Shiv Sainiks will be with you.”

Shiv Sena Chief’s statement came just a day after MJ Akbar stepped down as the MoS, External Affairs. MJ Akbar resigned from his post on Wednesday over allegations of sexual harassment against him. As per initial information, MJ Akbar was asked to quit by the Government amid massive pressure by women journalists for his ouster.

"Since I have decided to seek justice in a court of law in my personal capacity. I deem it appropriate to step down from office and challenge false accusations levied against me, also in a personal capacity. I have, therefore, tendered my resignation from the office of Minister of State for External Affairs," wrote MJ Akbar in his resignation letter.

Further attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray, while addressing a gathering during the annual Dussehra rally in Shivaji park, said, “PM goes for foreign tour but has not visited Ayodhya once, the state from where he was elected as MP. I want to ask why didn't PM visited Ayodhya.”

Every year on Dussehra, Shiv Sena organizes their annual rally at Shivaji Park where the party Supremo addresses party workers and weave out strategies to take on their political opponents. This has been a tradition of the party for more than five decades now.
