After Christian Michel was extradited to India a night earlier, on Wednesday, a nervous Robert Vadra has posted on social media about the latest ED summons sent to him in a Bikaner land deal case, saying that there is a political witch-hunt against him. He has claimed that he has co-operated with the authorities. He added the authorities were creating a media circus ahead of the polls.

The ED has summoned Robert Vadra to explain his connection in a Bikaner land deal case.

Taking to Facebook, Vadra has written:

"The political witch-hunt carries on unceasingly with government departments clearly operating on an agenda to besmirch my dignity and reputation. I have cooperated fully with them for the last 4.5 years. I will continue to do so.

On the last occasion they summoned me for documents, my lawyer sat there for three hours and handed over an exhaustive set of documents, yet again. It is indeed strange that I was asked for the very same documents once again even though they had already been furnished over the last few years. In fact it is even stranger that I was sent another summons within 24 hours without the agency even perusing the latest set of 600 documents supplied to them.

My lawyer has been compelled to appear in Jaipur once more today (no surprise that this is just two days before the polling in Rajasthan). The authorities know perfectly well that there is no case to proceed against me. They merely want to create another media circus to distract the public. This is nothing but a politically motivated, malicious and baseless prosecution. The truth will prevail some day. It always does," he said.

Christian Michel was extradited to India on Tuesday night. The CBI took his custody soon after.

On Wednesday, he will be taken to the court and produced in front of a special judge. The CBI has asked the court to be allow an in-camera hearing for Michel.

Michel was a middleman in the deal to acquire choppers to be used for VVIPs in India that underwent numerous and questionable changes during the UPA regime, including allegations that the criteria were changed to suit a particular company. He may also hold the key to deciphering a notebook recovered in the probe into the AgustaWestland 'Choppergate' scam that contained numerous initials alongside what appeared to be sums of money.
