Independence Day 2018 | PM Modi hails the power of the Indian Passport in his speech from the Red Fort

Prime Minister Narendra Modi while making his Independence Day speech from the ramparts of Delhi's Red Fort, talked about the flourishing international relations. He said that India has made its position in the world economy and is considered to be one of the fastest growing economies of the world.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi while making his Independence Day speech from the ramparts of Delhi's Red Fort, talked about the flourishing international relations. He said that India has made its position in the world economy and is considered to be one of the fastest growing economies of the world. He said that the world now recognizes every activity in the country and is looking forward to strategic partnerships. He further states that the power of Indian passport has increased and India is welcomed with honour in the foreign countries. Referring to the Indians staying abroad, he said that they know at that every situation they are backed by their country. 

The Prime Minister also talked about the development of the northeastern states of India. He said that there was a time when northeast India used to feel deprived, but the current government has successfully bridged the gap.

"There was a time when northeast India used to feel that Delhi is very far from them, but within 4 years we have brought Delhi to the doorstep of the North East," said PM Narendra Modi in his speech.

He also mentioned that the northeastern states are doing great in the sports sector and are making the country proud.

"Northeast is developing rapidly, highways are built in the states, railway services and electricity is reaching the remote areas of the states," he said. 

In his speech, PM Modi said that people who used to praise the infrastructure of the developed cities now talk about the tier 2 and tier 3 cities. He praised the youth of the country who as he mentioned have taken the initiative to make India flourish. He encouraged the entrepreneurs for taking up new innovative initiatives and stated that they have contributed to take the Indian economy to new heights. Talking about the success of Mudra loan, he said that 13 crore people have availed the loan and among them 4 crore people were first-timers. 

The Prime Minister further stated that Information Technology (IT) has contributed much to the development of the country. He said that every village, rather every person is connected to the world through technology. In his speech, he also said that India is proud of its scientists, who are excelling in their research and are at the forefront of innovation. He further revealed that the government is planning to send a citizen to space and unfurl the tricolor there by 2022, marking itself as the 4th country in the world to send a human on a space expedition.
