"India has conceived many geniuses whose noble ideas inspired the human civilization": Former Nepal PM

On Friday, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, former Prime Minister of Nepal acknowledged and appreciated India for its contributions to humanity and world. Dahal accentuated on India’s role in progressing the waves of innovation and inventions in the 21st century. He even emphasized on the relationship between India-Nepal. 

"Nepal and India, have an immemorial history of harmonious co-existence. We are connected by geography as well history, religions as well as rives, cultures as well as commerce. We are not only neighbors but also close friends. People-to-people interactions and exchanges are at the crux which gives us the very unique nature of our relations," said Dahal.

While addressing an event in Delhi, Dahal praised the nobility and wisdom nurtured in the country, that has had an impact on the acceleration of human civilization. Along with that, appreciated the religious threads of Vedas and Buddhism

"India has conceived many geniuses whose noble ideas and wisdom has inspired the human civilization. And those wisdoms have not only been a guiding light to humanity, they have also stood the test of time," Dalal added. 

The former prime minister also appreciated the Vedas and Buddhism as he said, "When the world was confined to the shadows of bigotry and superstition, our region was already enlightened "

He also pointed out the ideals and values that were born out of India and Nepal's collective civilizational belief on harmony, discipline and precedence of the larger public good and interest, over inconsequential individual conceit. 

This is not the first time that Nepal has expressed their fondness towards India, or this relationship with the neighbor. Nepalese Prime Minister, Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli had invited his Indian counterpart, PM Narendra Modi to attend the "Bibaha Panchami" celebrations in December, during his visit to Nepal. 

"His (PM Modi’s) visit invitation for the Bibaha Panchami on December 12 this year is confirmed as Bishnu Rimal has earlier confirmed. A detailed report about it will be released as soon as the festive season is over," Nepalese PM said.

On his next visit to Nepal, Prime Minister Modi has also scheduled to visit Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha.
