The Chinar Corps along with J&K Police on Wednesday addressed a news briefing and said that it has arrested two Pakistani terrorists. The Chinar Corps commander Lieutenant General KJS Dhillon showed the confession video of the two terrorists and said that it is a proof of Pakistan's intention. "They are trying to push terrorist to this side of Line of Control (LoC)." He informed that a large number of Pakistani terrorists are being infiltrated into Indian side by the Pakistan to create disruption in Jammu and Kashmir.
"Pakistan is desperate to infiltrate maximum terrorists into the Kashmir valley to disrupt peace in the Valley. On August 21, we apprehended two Pakistani nationals who are associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba," Dhillon added. During questioning the two LeT guides revealed that their handlers across the LoC are planning to push in groups of terrorists to disrupt peace and launch attacks in Kashmir," said the Army. In their confession video, the two terrorists exposed the Pakistan army and said that they were trained by LeT to cross the border and was helped by Pak army.
Earlier, External Affairs Ministry spokesman Raveesh Kumar told reporters that Indian security forces are prepared to deal with the illegal infiltration and terror plot of Pak army. He had also said that Pakistan is trying to infiltrate terrorists to create an disruption after Article 370 was abrogated by New Delhi. However, Pak foreign minister Asif Ghafoor rejected the claims, saying Pakistan was a responsible state and “we would be insane to allow infiltration” across the Line of Control dividing Kashmir between the two countries. MEA also added that Pak “has been using terror and cross-border terrorism as a policy. We have continued to highlight that Pakistan has an obligation to take action against terrorist and terror groups operating from its soil.” EAM S Jaishankar reiterated similar remarks - he said that Pakistan is using terrorism as a diplomatic tool. "Problem with Pakistan is very different. I would say if today you look at international relations. I cannot think of any other country in the world, which uses terrorism as a diplomatic tool against its neighbour. It a very unique phenomenon", the EAM added
India on August 5 abrogated Article 370 that gave special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, it bifurcated the state into two union territories - Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh. Following the step, Pakistan was enraged and cut trade ties with India, including halt on the Samjhauta express and Thar express - the two trains between India and Pakistan. Imran Khan has since then urged the international community to intervene and has announced 'Kashmir hour' to express his solidarity to Kashmiris. The Pakistan army and Imran Khan's administration has also been peddling fake news of atrocity in the valley.
