In order to create awareness about poverty and human rights, a stone was inaugurated in Paris, the capital city of France. Human rights were inscribed on that commemorative stone, which was unveiled by Father Joseph Wresinski, the founder of the International Movement ATD Fourth World. UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. It seeks to build peace through international cooperation in Education, the Sciences and Culture. UNESCO believes that when the child is getting educated, the chances of poverty decreases in future. So they have also arranged workshops/events for the people in Thailand named "Bridging Histories with Contemporary Art." For the last few years, UNESCO has been promoting the concept of “shared histories” in Southeast Asia, as one way to strengthen intercultural dialogue and a culture of peace. The concept has been disseminated through teaching in schools, as well as a range of other media such as games and web applications, exhibitions, children’s books and museum education programs.

The Director-General of UNESCO has added the message on the website that the UNESCO’s action focuses on girls and women in particular. UNESCO uses education as a lever, because for each year that a girl spends in the classroom, her future income will increase by 10 to 20 per cent. She has also added that educated mothers will automatically make school a priority for their daughters and in light of this, UNESCO’s new Futures of Education initiative aims to transform education to combat social fragmentation and inequality. The director-general has also tweeted on October 1st for acting for women.
