Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday attacked Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena in his Delhi Legislative Assembly address on Tuesday. Taking a swipe at Delhi L-G, AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal said Vinai Kumar Saxena's intervention in every issue is not right. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said L-G Saxena is raising issues in every work of the AAP government. Speaking about the teachers' training programme, the CM alleged the LG returned the file twice with objections.

"Delhi has 2 crore people and lakhs of children. I consider all these children as mine, all these children are like Harshita and Pulkit (his son and daughter). The AAP government's only objective is to provide a good education to all children. Teachers and principals shape the future of the children," AAP's Arvind Kejriwal said.

Making a pitch to send teachers to Finland, Kejriwal further asserted that around 30 teachers were asked to go to Finland for training but they were stopped. "L-G VK Saxena denied and advised considering a cost-benefit analysis. He has returned the file twice with one or other objections. When Education Minister and Chief Minister have agreed mutually, why is L-G interfering in the matter? Who is L-G to decide how we educate our children? The Supreme Court clearly says that L-G does not have any authority to take independent decisions and issue orders, yet our L-G makes a decision which is contrary to our govt in Delhi. When I told him about the SC order and judgment, he said that it might be SC's opinion. I was shocked and told him this is contempt of court order," Kejriwal avered.

Faceoff between Kejriwal and L-G

As the faceoff between Kejriwal and L-G Saxena continues, Arvind Kejriwal said, "They (BJP) don't want teachers to visit Finland. Many MPs of the BJP and their children have studied in foreign countries. If we want to provide better education to children of the poor, then who are they to stop? It's a feudal mindset and Delhi L-G has that mindset."

Making a comparison between Delhi L-G and British Viceroy, Kejriwal alleged that Delhi L-G cannot sit on our heads and cannot be our headmaster. "Like the British viceroy, LG has come to sit on our heads," he said.

Further, Kejriwal mentioned that nothing is permanent and time is very powerful. He said, "If one thinks that one will remain in power forever, then that is not going to happen. Today we are in power in Delhi and they are (BJP) in power in the Centre, tomorrow it might happen we will be in power in the Centre," he added.
