Speaking at the press briefing on Wednesday, J&K governor Satya Pal Malik slammed Rahul Gandhi yet again after the two had been in a verbal clash with each other over the prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir after the Parliament abrogated Article 370 and bifurcated the state of J&K into two union territories. As Congress claimed that the governor of J&K behaves like a 'BJP leader' and 'should formally join BJP', after Rahul Gandhi and the Opposition delegation was not allowed to enter Kashmir, the governor said that Gandhi is a 'political juvenile'. While announcing employment drive for J&K and assuring that the place will be like no other, the governor said: "Rahul Gandhi behaves like a political juvenile. Today his statements are registered in Pakistan's letter to the UN. In times of election, his Opposition will not be required to say anything, they can simply say that he opposed Article 370, then people will beat him with shoes.'

In the same press briefing on Wednesday, PTI quoted the Governor saying, "Don't you want that people should become leaders. I have gone to jail 30 times. Those who will go to jail, will become leaders. Let them be there. The more they spend time in the jail, the more they will claim during elections...that I have spent six months behind bars. So if you sympathise with them, do not be sad over detention. And they all are in their homes. I was jailed in Fatehgarh during the Emergency where it used to take two days to reach. If someone is detained in any issue, if he is wise, he will take political benefit. I am wishing them well," Satya Pal Malik added.

J&K: Satya Pal Malik announced Employment drive

Announcing a massive employment drive, governor Satya Pal Malik on Wednesday said that there are 50,000 vacancies for government jobs. He further said that 50 new colleges will built and there will be more announcements regarding the development in J&K as various Central ministries are visiting. Stating loud and clear that 'Kashmir will be like no other' (Kashmir itna shandar hojaega , ki Kashmir jaisa koi nahi), Governor Satya Pal Malik said: " J&K's identity, heritage, culture will be protected, this is our promise. Preparations for Block elections have already begun." On the communication blackout Satya Pal Malik said: Internet shutdown in the valley is to prevent untoward activities by terror elements. Landlines have been restored in most places. He also quashed the rumours claiming that medical facilities are less. He said that all the facilities are ample and situation will be normal in the state very soon.

Various ministries visiting J&K

A high level meeting was chaired by Home Secretary on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by IB chief, additional secretaries and other officials. The meeting was called to discuss situation of J&K after abrogation of Article 370. The meeting was attended by Secretaries of different Ministries of Govt of India including Finance, Law, Urban Development, Transport ,Rural Development and Telecom Secretary. Meeting was chaired by Union Home Secretary AK Bhalla. Sources told Republic that primary topic discussed was on implementation of Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation act.

One of the secretary who present in meeting told on anonymity that they had discussed on several issues for development of J&K after abrogation of Article 370. The secretary also told that decision has also been taken in this meeting for implementation of 85 central govt direct benefit schemes in better way. Officials also made plan for ongoing development project reach people of state without further delay. This meeting is important because J&K will become union territory on October 31. Central Govt is working closely with state officials to root out all hurdles for J&K before October 31.

Abrogation of Article 370

On August 5, India revoked Article 370 of the Constitution removing special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally it has also bifurcated the state into two Union Territories -- Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. Reacting to India's decision, Pakistan took a number of steps including expulsion of the Indian High Commissioner soon after deciding to downgrade diplomatic ties with New Delhi. India has categorically told the international community that its move to scrap Article 370 of the Constitution is India's internal matter. Despite Pakistan's repeated attempt to internationalise the issue, international community including UN has categorically said that it is a bilateral matter and there is no scope for 'third party mediation'. Moreover, to Pakistan's embarrassment, Imran Khan's minister have been peddling fake news to attract the international forum towards Kashmir issue, but the Indian army has busted their attempts each time.
