J&K Police shuts down Pakistani senator's abysmal fake-news attempt about J&K, demands action from Twitter

The Jammu and Kashmir police has called out the shambolic attempt by Pakistan politician Abdul Rehman Malik NI for spreading malicious content on social media in an attempt to cause unrest and disrupt peace in the state of Jammu and Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370. Pakistan has over the last few days launched full-fledged fake propaganda and has been actively using Twitter to spread fake messages about incidents of violence and protests. 

J&K calls out Pakistan politician's lies, writes to Twitter

The Jammu and Kashmir police lashed out at the Pakistani politician for promoting and spreading content that could lead to unrest in the state along with misinforming many. The police force came out strongly against the fake news campaign and said that it had sought Twitter's assistance on the matter. Rehman Malik had put out a post wherein he had made the ludicrous claim that the Indian Army had used helicopter gunships to go to war with the citizens of J&K.

The J&K police took him on directly, writing:

CRPF also calls out fake news:

Even as the government, the Home Ministry, the state Police in Jammu and Kashmir and Republic TV ground report shows that there has been peace and normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir, mischievous elements are continuously propagating fake news. Calling out the fake news peddled regarding the situation of Kashmir after abrogation of Article 370, now CRPF has said that these are 'baseless and untrue'. The CRPF clarified that security forces are working for bonhomie in the state. 

In this context, on Monday, the J&K police also issued notice to Twitter demanding details of an account that had spread fake news about the security situation in the state:

This is hardly the first Pakistan attempt to spread fake news on Jammu and Kashmir following Article 370's abrogation. Subsequent to the development which took place on Monday, August 5, Pakistan ISI-backed stooges had also unleashed a virulent fake-news campaign against Republic TV, doctoring a video in their efforts to make it seem as the situation was anything but normal.
