J&K: Three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists neutalized

In a big win for security forces in Jammu & Kashmir, three terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were gunned down in an operation carried out in Anantnag.

In a big win for security forces in Jammu & Kashmir, one terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and two terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen were gunned down in an operation carried out in Anantnag. The police were also able to recover a huge amount of ammunition. According to sources, input about the presence of terrorists was received by the J&K police and in a joint operation, all three terrorists were killed after an encounter in Pazalpora of Anantnag. The encounter started in the morning on Wednesday when multiple teams of security forces advanced towards Pazalpora area. Sources say that the trio was holed up in a structure and after getting the confirmation, the security forces advanced towards them. However, as soon as the terrorists realised the presence of forces they opened fire but later all three were shot dead.

Lashkar commander among those killed

The group of three terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen also included the commander Nasir Chadru of Lashkar. The other two terrorists have been identified as Janis Farooq and Aquin Ahmad. The encounter between these terrorists and security forces took place in a very sensitive area with respect to the presence of terrorists and law and order. None of the security personnel were injured during the encounter.

Law and Order disruptor arrested

In another crucial development, the J&K Police has arrested the main person who was responsible for disturbing the law and order in Srinagar after the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35 A. Sources say that Hayat Ahmad Bhat alias Hayat Dar was the main instigator of law and order disturbance in the Down town area of Srinagar city. According to police Hayat Dar was instrumental in mobilising the miscreants in and around Jenab Sahib Soura of Srinagar. Dar was previously affiliated with Muslim League, a proscribed outfit and was earlier booked two times under J&K Public Safety Act for his involvement in more than 16 FIRs pertaining to law and order disturbances. In 2019, the police had booked Dar in 3 FIRs under ULA (P) Act for his involvement in subversive activities.
