Responding to Union Minister Babul Supriyo being heckled at the Jadavpur University on Thursday, BJP leader Chandra Kumar Bose called it a 'shocking incident'. Lashing out at the West Bengal government led by Mamata Banerjee, Chandra Kumar Bose said that the police and TMC administration in the state has failed. Asserting that the demonstration could have been taken peacefully, the BJP leader added that it was the responsibility of the state administration to control the situation. Slamming Mamata Banerjee, Chandra Kumar Bose said that she has failed to maintain the law and order in the state.
" =This is a shocking incident. It proves that the local administration, the Trinamool Congress government, the police administration has completely collapsed in the state of West Bengal. The Left union can certainly demonstrate peacefully. They cannot get so aggressive and violent. It is the responsibility of the Jadavpur University authority and the state administration. They have completely failed. Babul Supriyo was invited to brace an occasion. He was invited by ABVP, which is a registered union of the Jadavpur University. How could the Left union begin this kind of demonstrate? Who will control this mob - The state administration and the state police. But Mamata Banerjee has failed to maintain law and order in the state. She has to take responsibility. She is also the Home Minister of the state," BJP leader Chandra Kumar Bose said speaking in the matter.
When BJP leader Babul Supriyo went to attend a seminar in the Jadavpur University in Kolkata, he was allegedly 'heckled' and shown black flags by a section of students. He was invited by ABVP to address the seminar. He was stopped from entering the university campus and slogans were raised against him, demanding him to go back. Speaking about the situation, Babul Supriyo said that he is saddened by the behavior of the students when he went to the university to address an event and not to do politics.
"I did not come here to do politics. But I am saddened by the behaviour of some of the students of the university, the way they have heckled me... They pulled me by my hair and also pushed me," Supriyo alleged.
West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar spoke to CM Mamata Banerjee and Chief Secretary Malay Kumar De on phone and apprised them about the situation at Jadavpur University.
