Three days after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reprimanded people chanting 'Jai Shri Ram' slogan at her convoy at North 24, Parganas, Republic TV has learnt that the Trinamool chief has ordered the Kolkata Police to find out the background details of the people raised the chants.

As per sources, Mamata Banerjee wants to know whether the people raising the 'Jai Shri Ram' slogans are outsiders. She has further asked the police to find out the places in Bengal where the sloganeers are residing and figure out the areas in the state where she can run into them during her movement, sources said.

On May 31, a video went viral in which Mamata Banerjee was seen losing her cool at the people for raising 'Jai Shri Ram' slogans. She termed them people as "criminals" and claimed that they were from BJP party and outsiders.

"They are BJP people and criminals from outside the state. These are all outsiders and BJP people, they are criminals and were abusing me. They are not from Bengal," the Trinamool chief had said.

She also stated that she will take action against the sloganeers for the same.

This incident came weeks after BJP West Bengal shared the video of Mamata Banerjee in which she can be seen shouting at people raising 'Jai Shri Ram' chants at her convoy in the state.

On June 1, violence was reported at Kanchrapada in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district when TMC leaders were greeted with 'Jai Shri Ram' slogans by BJP supporters.

As per reports, the Trinamool ministers who were confronted were Sujit Basu, Tapas Roy, and along with party leader Madan Mitra. Police forces were reportedly dispatched to disperse the crowds. Lathi charge too was reportedly resorted to by the police in an effort to disperse the BJP supporters. Sources also report that the situation is currently being controlled by Rapid Action Forces (RAF).

In response to this incident, sources said that the BJP in West Bengal also planned to send 10 lakh 'Jai Shri Ram' postcards to the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
