A web series based on the life of the late politician Jayalalitha has landed in controversy. Reportedly, the family of the late politician have objected the web series. The series that goes by the name 'Queen' and is based on the political and personal life of the Jayalalitha is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon.
Actress Ramya Krishnan is playing the role of Jayalalithaa while Malayalam actor Indrajith Sukumaran is going to play the role of the former chief minister and AIADMK founder MG Ramachandran. The demise of Jayalalithaa in the state unleashed a major political shift within the party and the government for at least two years, which lead to the unstable government. The Aarumugasamy commission which is formed to find the mystery behind Jayalalithaa's probe is still on.
While this is the case, the niece and nephew of former CM Jayalalithaa have objected the web series as it is going to portray some part of personal life as well. Deepak Jayakumar, nephew of Jayalalithaa says that "they didn't get permission from the family members to shoot the personal life of her, Anyone can show the political life and we don't have a problem about it, but not personal life, the court has accepted that we are legal heirs of Jayalalithaa, So they cannot release this or shoot without asking us when they show her personal life."
They are also planning to take it legally by sending a notice to the director and producer against the web series which is planned to be released on the MX player platform. There is no response yet from the team as of now since the statement by the nephew came this morning.
Another biopic, on Jayalalithaa with AL Vijay as the director, was also announced. Actor Kangana Ranaut has been roped in to play the role of Jayalalitha. Kangana announced her association with the film on her birthday. According to sources, the actress has also started prepping for the film.
