JP Nadda gets paid a visit by China's envoy at BJP Headquarters

The meeting of the Chinese Ambassador with JP Nadda comes at a time when the troops from both India and China had a face-off near Pangong Tso lake earlier today

BJP’s national working President, JP Nadda met the Chinese envoy to India, H.E. Sun Weidong at the BJP national Headquarters in New Delhi today.

Veteran diplomat Sun Weidong was appointed as an envoy to India by Beijing earlier in June this year. Weidong succeeded the previous ambassador Luo Zhaohui, who was recently promoted to the post of Vice Foreign Minister.

Sun Weidong earlier served as Chinese envoy to Pakistan

Sun Weidong has a long Diplomatic experience of serving in Foreign Affairs. Before handling the current ambassador position, he served as the Director-General in China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Policy Planning Department. Having served as Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Sun Weidong has his share of knowledge and experience in the South Asian region.

Earlier this month on September 3, BJP National Working President, JP Nadda had met a delegation headed by New Zealand's leader of the Opposition, Simon Bridges at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi.

Indo-China troops have a face-off near Pangong Tso lake

The meeting of the Chinese Ambassador with BJP National Working President, JP Nadda comes at a time when the troops from both India and China had a face-off near Pangong Tso lake earlier today. The heated exchange between the forces took place when the Chinese troops objected Indian Army patrolling in the area.

Since the heated exchange between the troops, the Indian Army has issued a statement which says that the issue happened over the deferring perceptions about the Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India and China. As per the sources, the issues have been resolved after delegation-level talks between the two countries.
