Social media is flooded with hashtags #SurgicalStrike2.0, #IndiaStrikesPakistan, #IndiaStrikesBack celebrating the Indian Air Force as they destroyed the biggest terror camp in Pakistan across LoC.

Foreign Secretary Vijay Keshav Gokhale told reporters that a large number of JeM terrorists, trainers, and senior commanders were eliminated in India's non-military, intelligence-led strike on JeM's biggest training camp in Balakot, located in Pakistan.

He said: "Credible intelligence was received that JeM was attempting another suicide terror attack in various parts of the country, and the fidayeen jihadis were being trained for this purpose. In the face of imminent danger, a pre-emptive strike became absolutely necessary.”

On Tuesday, Indian government announced that the IAF struck and destroyed Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camps across the Line of Control in a pre-dawn operation. As per sources, the strike, carried out by 12 of the IAF's Mirage 2000 fighters, lasted up to 21 minutes and was carried out at three locations. ANI reported that ammunition dump was blown up at Balakot, Pakistan, a significant location where Kashmiris were reportedly take across, were brainwashed and trained in JeM camps. It is also known that the dump had over 200 AK rifles, uncountable rounds of hand grenades, explosives and detonators.

In the days following the attack, the Indian government, including the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, have made clear that the Armed Forces had been given a free rein to avenge the attack.  As per media reports, six bombs were dropped on the terrorist camps by the Indian Air Force Mirage 2000s.

In their launch, Azhar Yusuf alias Mohd Salim alias Ustaad Gohri was targeted on Tuesday in Balakot, he was also one of the hijackers of IC-814. 

Three locations were targeted by the Indian Air Force. Here is the timeline:

• 3:45 am-3:53 am: The first strike was conducted at Balakot, 24 KM North West of Muzafarrabad.
• 3:48 am- 3:55 am: The second strike, as per top sources, was at Muzafarrabad
• Around 3:55 am: India's third blow was at Chakoti

The locations that were targeted by the Air Force included joint training camps of JeM, LeT and Hizbul Mujahideen.
