In a show of its strength, the Indian army on Tuesday successfully conducted the third test-firing of the guided Pinaka weapon system in Pokhran, Rajasthan.
Republic TV has accessed the ground video, which shows how the prowess of the weapon. In the visuals accessed, the missile can be seen going high up in the air in a matter of seconds. The army had conducted two successful testing exercise on Monday.
The weapon system is equipped with state-of-the-art guidance kit comprising of an advanced navigation and control system.
“The indigenously developed guided Pinaka, developed by DRDO, will significantly boost the capability of the artillery to make precision hits,” the defence ministry had said on Monday.
About the tests, it said the weapon systems impacted the intended targets with high precision and achieved desired accuracies. “Telemetry systems tracked and monitored the vehicle all through the flight path. All the mission objectives have been met,” the ministry added.

Only a few days back, the Eastern Command of Indian Army had tested its anti-tank guided missile detachment during a field training exercise using a mock target. Under the supervision of General Mohanty of the GOC 33 Corps, which is based in Siliguri, the training field exercise took place.
While it was a training exercise, the missiles hit the mock target with precision and 100% success ratio. The mock target was decimated and blown away with the force of the anti-tank missile.
