Kamlesh Tiwari Murder: UP CM Yogi Adityanath to visit kin of deceased

UP CM will meet the family members of deceased Hindu Samaj Party chief Kamlesh Tiwari on Sunday; CM called the murder "an act of mischief to create terror"

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will meet the family members of Hindu Samaj Party chief Kamlesh Tiwari on Sunday. The Chief Minister will be meeting the family at 11 am, as per sources. Earlier on Saturday, Yogi Adityanath said that the murder of Hindu Samaj Party chief Kamlesh Tiwari was "an act of mischief to create terror". He also mentioned that such incidents will not be tolerated and those involved will not be spared. 

Speaking on the ‘well-planned’ murder of the leader, CM Adityanath said, “Kamlesh was the President of the Hindu Samaj Party. The assailants came to his house in Lucknow yesterday, sat and had tea with him, and later killed him after sending all security guards out to buy something from the market.”

Kamlesh Tiwari's murder 

The former chief of Hindu Mahasabha, Kamlesh Tiwari, was killed on Friday afternoon inside his residence in the Naka Hindola area in Lucknow. He was shot multiple times and also stabbed by unidentified assailants. Soon after the attack, he was admitted to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. While the assailants managed to flee the spot, a revolver was also recovered from the site of the crime. Police stated that the accused spent around 30 minutes with him on the pretext of gifting him sweets. The police registered an FIR on a complaint filed by Tiwari’s wife where she accused two persons of having threatened to kill her husband in 2016.

Three suspects arrested by Gujarat ATS

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested three persons in relation to the murder case of Tiwari. In a separate development, news agency ANI has reported that the Uttar Pradesh police is investigating Maulana Anwarul Haq from Bijnor. In 2015, he had placed a bounty of Rs. 51 lakh for beheading Kamlesh Tiwari. He was one of the two suspects named by Tiwari’s wife in her complaint to the police.
