After Shiromani Akali Dal's Manjinder Singh Sirsa levelled drug abuse charges on prominent Bollywood celebrities at filmmaker Karan Johar's party, Mumbai Police sources have responded over the issue.
Top Mumbai Police sources told Republic TV that they have not recieved any information of any such party and that they can act upon the issue only if they are presented with concrete evidence. Mumbai Police further asserted that the issue will not be investigated unless they are provided with concrete evidence for them to go forward.
Following Sirsa's allegation of drug consumption, Congress' Milind Deora called out Sirsa for 'defaming' those present at the party, including his wife Pooja Shetty along with ace celebrities Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Mira Rajput Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Natasha Dalal, Zoya Akhtar, Vicky Kaushal and Ayan Mukerji.
In retaliation to the claims of the Akali Dal MLA that Bollywood was proudly 'flaunting their drugged state,' Deora asked him to stop spreading lies and tender an 'unconditional apology'
My wife was also present that evening (and is in the video). Nobody was in a “drugged state” so stop spreading lies & defaming people you don’t know!— Milind Deora मिलिंद देवरा (@milinddeora) July 30, 2019
I hope you will show the courage to tender an unconditional apology https://t.co/Qv6FY3wNRk
However, Sirsa in his first response denied to apologise over the issue, further asserting that he was 'very sure that these Bollywood celebrities are doing drugs.'
He said, "Milind Deora has said that his family was present there but I am very sure that these Bollywood celebrities are doing drugs. and I will not apologise for this. Do I have to apologise from these drug addicts? No never will I ever do that. I will rot in jail till my death but will not apologise to them. No force in this world can ask me to apologise from these drug addicts."
Neither I know @milinddeora; nor his family. I didn’t share this video to harass anyone but to expose Bollywood stars who are themselves into drugs yet defamed our youth calling them drug addict!!— Manjinder S Sirsa (@mssirsa) July 31, 2019
I would never apologise to these drug addicts.@ANI @TimesNow @ZeeNews https://t.co/GRB4x5OICC pic.twitter.com/MIn0iPh2x0
The video which is being recorded by host Karan Johar himself, begins with Deepika posing with director Shakun Batra (Kapoor and Sons fame), followed by Malaika's wink, to Karan zooming on Malaika's boyfriend Arjun Kapoor who is seen talking to Shahid Kapoor.
Karan's camera then focuses on Varun Dhawan who is busy chatting with Zoya Akhtar. The camera then shifts to Vicky Kaushal who instantly rubs his nose and Karan pans the camera to director Ayan Mukerji who is seen hiding something behind him. The video ends with Ranbir Kapoor asking 'What is Karan recording' and Mira Rajput waving at the camera.
