HD Kumaraswamy had to stay back at Chandraki village in Yadgir as his visit to Herur (B) village in Afzalpur taluk of Kalaburagi district as a part of his 'village stay' has been delayed due to rains to an unspecified date next month.
The chief minister of Karnataka clarified that the visit has not been canceled but only postponed until next month, further adding that he would do a public hearing along with announcing a date.
He said, "It is not canceled it is postponed because of heavy rain. I will give another date in the next month and will do the public hearing then as well."
Kumaraswamy, who is on a 'village' stay to spend the night at the government Government Higher Primary School in Chandraki along with other ministers and was seen sleeping on the floor.
Kumaraswamy reached the Chandraki village on Friday morning and interacted with farmers, locals, and school students.
He held a press conference wherein he falsified reports suggesting that he is relishing a '5-star treatment' in the village and in response said that he was 'ready to sleep on the road'
However, earlier on Friday, in a shocking revelation, Republic accessed the visuals of the exclusive renovation done in the bathroom of the house Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will be staying at during his 'village' stay in Yadgir, which is a drought-ridden district in the state.
Apart from the renovations, elaborate security arrangements were made and all road-facing buildings in the village were painted with water sprinkled over mud roads, as per sources.
Kumaraswamy boarded a train on Thursday to Yadgir under his Grama Vaastavya (Village Stay Programme) program in which he has claimed he will visit 2-4 villages every month.
