Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and a BJP leader appealed to the government that immediate and strict action should be taken in the case of abduction of an 18 year-old Sikh girl in Nankana Sahib, Pakistan on Thursday. He further said that there has always been violation of human rights in Pakistan.

“The abduction of the Sikh girl is a huge matter of concern. There has always been a human rights violation in Pakistan. In 1947, there were around 10 to 11 percent of minorities in the country. But today, only around percent of them are left. This is a concern and strict actions need to be taken.” He added that Pakistan is already in a matter of distress, while referring to the Kashmir issue.
