Kiran Bedi rides bullock cart to village, loses iPhone, recovers it

Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi visited a lake near the city to participate in the 'Green Puducherry and Water-rich Puducherry' campaign on Saturday. The former IPS officer led a large number of volunteers and officials raising slogans on the need to conserve water bodies during the campaign. However, during the visit, Kiran Bedi lost her iPhone, news agency PTI reported. As soon as it was found that she lost her phone, she started looking for it, along with members of her team who helped her. 

Much to her relief, the phone was found lying in a thicket, but it was partially damaged. It has been reported that the I-phone had fallen off while Kiran Bedi was riding a bullock-cart on a bumpy, slushy road during her visit near the Bahour Lake.

As per an official at the Raj Nivas, Kiran Bedi used another mobile phone with which she dialled her number and the ringtone led her to the thicket where her iPhone was located, PTI further reported.

Meanwhile, Kiran Bedi during her visit said that Bahoor lake was the second largest lake after Oussudu lake. The banks of Bahoor lake has been transformed into a walkers' trail, through sustained efforts over the last few months. Over 3,000 saplings had been planted on either side of the water body. Speaking over the initiative, Kiran Bedi said that she stumbled on 19th century stone images of two women Bangari and Singari who had been instrumental in the conserving the lake. After unearthing those images, they turned out to be a 'historical feature of archaeological value.'
