Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs, G Kishan Reddy on Sunday, September 15, explained that BR Ambedkar's dream of 'One Nation One Constitution' has been fulfilled now after the abrogation of Article 370. "The Constitution which was written by Ambedkar was not enforced in Jammu and Kashmir. Narendra Modi government has abrogated Article 370 and 35A and Ambedkar's dream of one Nation one Constitution has been fulfilled now," he said at an event here. "The provision of SC, ST and Backwards Category reservation were not applicable in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Right to Information Act was also not applicable there," Reddy said.

Abrogation of Article 370 will soon benefit apple farmers

Reddy also said that apple market in Jammu and Kashmir was not giving adequate profits to the apple farmers before Article 370 was scrapped. "Vendors took 70 per cent from the purchase amount and 30 per cent is given to the Farmers. The Central Government has decided to purchase every single apple and give the actual total amount to farmers. The department of Tourism is also cherished after the scrapping of Article 370," he added. In August, Parliament had revoked Article 370 which gave special provisions to Jammu and Kashmir and also bifurcated the state into two union territories- Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

India's top Muslim body backs abrogation

The General Council of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, India's top Muslim body on Thursday, September 13, backed the Parliament's move to abrogate Article 370. In a resolution passed by the body on Thursday at its headquarters in New Delhi, it states that Kashmir is an integral part of India. This resolution was announced by its General Secretary- Mahmood Madani stating that Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind can never support any separatist movement as such movements harm India and Kashmir. It has also reiterated its belief in India's unity and integrity.

Kashmiri Pandit community in Australia held a rally

The Kashmiri Pandit community in Australia held a rally on Sunday, September 15, to support the Indian government's move to revoke Article 370 of the Constitution that granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir. The Kashmiri Pandits were joined by others of the Indian-Australian community. The rally was held from Victorian state parliament to Federation Square in Melbourne. People carried the Indian flag and banners that read 'J&K is our motherland. India is our nation' and sang various patriotic songs during the rally.
