Late Liquor Baron Ponty Chadha's Son Manpreet Chadha Arrested From IGI Airport In Cheating Case By Delhi Police's EOW

Manpreet Singh Chadha, son of late liquor baron Ponty Chadha's son and Director of Uppal-Chadha Hi-tech Developers Private Limited, was arrested on late Wednesday night from Indira Gandhi International Airport by the Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police in connection with a cheating case.

Manpreet Singh Chadha, son of late liquor baron Ponty Chadha's son and Director of Uppal-Chadha Hi-tech Developers Private Limited, was arrested on late Wednesday night from Indira Gandhi International Airport by the Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police in connection with a cheating case.

As per inputs, Manpreet was leaving for Phuket from the Delhi Airport when he was arrested by the police. He has been arrested in connection with a case of cheating of flat buyers in the national capital. 

An FIR has been registered against Manpreet and his uncle Rajinder Singh Chadha, who are the owners of the Wave Group, for cheating and not providing apartments to the buyers under the charges of sections 420, 406, 469, 471 and 1208 of the Indian Penal Code.

'There are serious allegations of fraud, cheating, fabrication, forgery etc involving amount of approximately 65% to 85 % froths each individual buyer and as a group it may go much beyond Rs 100 crores making wrongful gains to the company," the FIR states.

Earlier in  February, Ponty Chadha's 19-year-old nephew Asees Singh Chadha was arrested by the Delhi police after his over-speeding Bentley Bentayga luxury SUV hit an autorickshaw in Chanakyapuri, killing one woman and leaving two other women and the autorickshaw driver injured. 

Asees is the son of Rajinder Singh Chadha who is late liquor baron Ponty Chadha's brother. A case has been registered under section 304 A of the Indian Penal Code against Chadha for allegedly ramming a speeding SUV into an auto-rickshaw. 

The deceased was been identified as a 51-year-old woman Gulshat Alijanova, who succumbed to her injuries at a hospital. Three others, who were critically injured, included the auto driver were identified as Raghubir Singh and two Turkmenistan nationals Alma Gul Atayeba and Gulia Yyam.

Liquor baron Gurdeep Singh Chadha alias Ponty Chadha, was killed in November 2012, following a family feud. In September 2012, Chadha's Wave Group bought the Delhi franchise of Hockey I-League.
