Exactly 12 days after the horrifying Pulwama terror attack where 40 CRPF soldiers were killed, the Indian Air Force carried out airstrikes on terrorist camps across the Line of control (LoC), on February 26. Indian Air Force destroyed the terror camps by dropping more than 1000 kgs of bombs, near Balakot.

Malayalam actor Mohanlal took to Twitter to react to the air strike. "How is the Josh #IndiaStrikesBack #IndiaAirForce #JaiHind," the actor tweeted. In a short span of time, the tweet was retweeted over 1,200 times.

Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Ram Charan, Tamannaah, Kajal Aggarwal, Mahesh Babu, Rakul Preet, Samantha and SS Rajamouli are among other celebrities from the south, who have praised the Indian Air Force. Rajnikanth wrote: "BRAVO INDIA.” while Kamal Haasan wrote: “Our 12 return safely home after wreaking havoc on terrorist camps in Pakistan. India is proud of its heroes. I salute their valour.”

Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi, yesterday, spoke on the Surgical Strike from Rajasthan. He said, "Today I assure the countrymen, the country is in safe hands. " Repeating the poetry he recited in 2014, "Sougandh mujhe is mitti ki, main desh nahin mitne doonga, main desh nahi rukne dunga, main desh nahi jhukne dunga"

"India has given proof many times seeking action against Jaish-e-Mohammed and others at terror camps so big, that they can train hundreds of jihadis and terrorists at any given time. But due to Pakistan's inaction, this step was necessary and had to be taken," Foreign secretary Vijay Gokhale said.

But Pakistan had a completely different response to the attack. "Indian aircrafts' intrusion across LOC in Muzaffarabad Sector... was 3-4 miles. Under forced hasty withdrawal aircrafts released payload which had free fall in open area. No infrastructure got hit, no casualties," Major General Asif Ghafoor of the Inter-Services Public Relations tweeted on Tuesday morning.
