Mamata Banerjee has reacted strongly to the Budget and called the financial situation of India an Economic Emergency, and many other names. She has even claimed that the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sammaan Nidhi scheme for farmers where marginal and small farmers will receive Rs 6,000, a photocopy of the scheme by her government in West Bengal.

Here are her remarks on the Budget:

Calling Budget 2019 an Economic Emergency

"No one knows the financial situation of this country. This is economic emergency. The government has no moral authority to place the budget now. This is absolutely valueless. This government doesn't have democracy's d and runs with emergency's e. This budget is a farce. I thought they will give away the black money but no not even that. They are only cheating people. "

Centre cannot implement this Budget

"We feel this is an expired budget. It is a budget of desperation. This cannot be implemented. There's only one month left for this government. They don't have the time to implement. I have worked for railway ministry."

"Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sammaan Nidhi is a photocopy of our scheme in Bengal"

"Why they didn't do this budget before? What they are saying for the farmers, we have already started this in Bengal.  You will be surprised to see they have copied our schemes. Farmer scheme by them is a photocopy of ours. I would have been happier if it was done earlier. Hey, will now circulate these scheme with flyers having big photo of Modi? We have withdrawn from Ayushmaan Bharat because we already have a health scheme. We won't take money from Center for crop insurance. We will spend our own money."

What they are saying and what they are doing there are huge differences between that. Itna Ujjwala scheme ke liye publicity kiya hai. But they have decreased that also by 14%. 13.4% reduced from Budget alloted to Skill development. It is a so-called show-off budget. They have decreased the budget for the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes as well. The BJP has victimised the poor people.  They are cheating the farmers. They haven't given any money for NREGA. They have cut down on it. No increase in rural development projects. Within these one year, 2 crore jobs were lost."

On implementing the Budget at state level

"Today the BJP is in power, tomorrow they won't be there. There is Congress government in few states. This is a federal structure. But agriculture is a state subject. They can't exclude states. Now they are taking all tax from us. They take money from the state and put PM Modi's picture. "

Brings up Nitin Gadkari's "Don't make unrealistic promises advise"

"We promise only what we can implement. We don't make false promises. You have already heard what Nitin Gadkariji has said. We can implement our own schemes, don't need money from Center."
