A passenger was offloaded from a Colombo bound flight on Wednesday as the police say that he was apparently “mentally unstable” and caused “inconvenience” to other passengers by performing Yoga on the flight. The passenger was travelling from Varanasi to Colombo as he was offloaded in the middle of the journey in Chennai. The crew meanwhile asked the passengers to not pay heed to whatever the man was doing.

Man handed over to CISF

The ‘inconvenience’ causing passenger was offloaded from the flight with the help of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The CISF later handed him over to the police and the private airlines later refunded a part of his ticket cost to the man. Since there was no formal complaint against the passenger, he was not arrested. However, in the process, he was handed over to the Sri Lanka Deputy High Commission in Chennai. He had in his possession both Sri Lankan and US passports, police said.

Woman created ruckus at India Gate

In a similar incident a few months ago, a woman from Hyderabad sneaked into a high-security area during the Republic Day rehearsal at India Gate on Sunday and allegedly shouted ''Pakistan Zindabad''. Security personnel on the duty at the India Gate stopped the woman from entering the Amar Jawan Jyoti. She also pushed the soldiers who were on duty and created chaos. Finally, woman constables took her to Parliament Street police station. Later, an investigation revealed the woman had left her native place to visit a relative in Mumbai but somehow ended up in Delhi. Hyderabad police were contacted, and Delhi police learned that two days ago, a missing complaint was filed in Nizamabad after the woman left home.
