Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation in his third Mann Ki Baat episode wherein he played a phone conversation between him and the singer

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation in his third Mann Ki Baat episode of the second edition and played a conversation between singing sensation Lata Mangeshkar and him. 

PM Modi extends birthday greetings to Lata Mangeshkar: 

The leader had called to extend birthday wishes to his Lata 'Didi'. Praising her for her humility, he said, "Before I left for abroad, I had a chance to speak with Lata Didi over the telephone. It was like a younger brother talking lovingly to his elder sister. "I never disclose such personal conversations but today I want you to listen to this one. You must listen how even at this age, Lata Didi, so keenly followed the matters concerning the country, and satisfaction of life is in seeing Indian progress, seeing India transform and touch new heights", he further added.

The singer praises PM Modi: 

In the audio recording of their phone conversation, PM Modi can be heard saying, "Lata Didi Pranam. I am Narendra Modi speaking. I have called at this time because I will be in flight on your birthday. So, I thought of wishing you in advance. Wishing you good health may your blessings be upon us". 

The singing sensation then goes ahead and praises PM Modi saying, "There are many who are older than us, the blessings of the ones who have done great service. You yourself don't know who you are. I know that that the picture of India has started changing ever since you arrived on the scene and this gives me immense happiness."

Previous session: 

In the previous session of 'Mann ki Baat,' PM Modi requested the citizens of the country to participate in the annual 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign. He stated that along with being open defecation free, India should now progress towards being a plastic-free nation.

Prime Minister in U.S 

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi has just completed his six-day US visit. He attended the mega Howdy Modi event on the first day and addressed 50,000 Indian Americans at the NRG Stadium in Houston. US President Donald Trump also made his appearance at the event.
