Maoist IED Attack: NIA Arrests NCP Leader In Gadchiroli

An NCP leader has been arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the Gadchiroli IED blast case in which 15 policemen and one civilian died. Kailash Ramchandani runs an electronics appliance store in Kurkheda. He is the president of the party in the Kurkheda tehseel.

The local Gadchiroli police had arrested several big Maoist leaders and then they interrogated them, during which Ramchandani's name came up. He had allegedly played a huge role in the attack. 

The National Investigation Agency had taken over the probe of the May 1 Maoiist attack. Eight accused were arrested in the case till now. The probing team had a big breakthrough in May in the case. Sources had informed Republic Media Network that intelligence agencies have got strong leads about the planning of the attack. 

Sources said that Nambala Keshava Rao alias Basavaraj is behind the attack. The agencies have got information that he is hiding in the jungles of Chhattisgarh from where he planned the attack and gave responsibility to execute it to the units in Maharashtra. Sources have also gathered the information that the fire at the construction site was a trap to distract the attention of the authorities.

Other breakthroughs by the forces in fighting the Ultra Left 

A hardcore Maoist with a bounty of Rs 8 lakh was arrested on Thursday from Chhattisgarh's Kanker district, police said.The arrested Maoist Muiwa alias Gaganna alias Dokra is a member of the Manipur-Nuwapada Divisional Committee of Maoists. Muiwa was nabbed by a team of the state police's Special Intelligence Branch (SIB) from the forests of Rawas and Amapani villages.
