After Indian Army's counter fire to Pakistan Army's recent unprovoked ceasefire violations along the LoC, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), on Wednesday, has written to the Pakistan High Commission in India condemning the deliberate targeting of innocent civilians by Pakistan forces, citing it was against humanitarian norms and professional military conduct.
It further called the Pakistan authorities to investigate these heinous acts of killing innocent civilians.
Earlier on Monday, a 10-day-old baby who was injured in heavy shelling by Pakistani troops along J&K's's Poonch district died at a hospital. Pakistani troops had been doing cross-border firing on July 28 and July, prompting strong and effective retaliation by Indian soldiers, as shared by an Army spokesperson. During the firing on Sunday, the baby was injured in the village in Shahpur sector.
On Wednesday, in retaliation to the recent unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Pakistan Army along the Line of Control (LoC) targeting civilians in Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army issued counter fire. Pakistan has been continuously violating ceasefire along the LoC at areas which are known infiltration routes.
Seemingly, the depleting number of terrorists in the Kashmir valley, because of the multiple Cordon and search operations (CASO) launched by the Indian Army has affected the neighbouring country which has resorted to violating the ceasefire.
Here's a list of sectors in Jammu and Kashmir where Pakistan carried out ceasefire violations in the past few days:
On July 29, Indian Army foiled an infiltration attempt by Pakistan along the LoC in Machhil sector of north Kashmir's Kupwara district. A day after that on July 30, another infiltration attempt was foiled in Baktur area of Gurez on LoC in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
