Even while heaping praises over Zomato India's befitting reply to a customer who cancelled his order because the assigned delivery personnel was a "non-Hindu," PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti tainting a communal picture questioned the 'normalisation of bigotry.'

In a tweet, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir questioned the bigotry and asked if 'non-Hindu was an euphemism for a Muslim,' while praising Zomato for 'not craving in and standing their ground.'

She said: Has bigotry been normalised to the extent now where bigots refuse food orders/ taxi services because the employee is ‘non-hindu’ / euphemism for a muslim? Kum say kum Khaaney ko toh baksho (At least spare food). Full credit to Zomato for not caving in & standing their ground.

Responding to the customer's comment that he cancelled his order because the delivery guy was a "non-Hindu", Zomato India earlier on Wednesday said that food does not have a religion. It is a religion.

Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal in retaliation to the customer affirmed that the company is 'proud of the idea of India and the diversity of its esteemed customers and partners'. Furthermore said that Zomato is 'not sorry to lose any business that comes in the way of the values of the company.'

Even NC leader Omar Abdullah took to Twitter and praised the fitting reply by the food delivery app. He replied on Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal's tweet and said that he loves the app and thanked him for giving a reason to admire the company behind it.
