Milind Deora hails PM Modi's Houston address, further refuting critics

Congress leader Milind Deora recently came under fire after he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 'Howdy Modi!' event in Houston, Texas. Deora in a social media statement called the address by the PM 'momentous' as he recalled his father's contribution to the Indo-US ties. Milind Deora's critics immediately took to Twitter to fire the Congress leader stating that Deora has already paved his way to the Bhartiya Janata Party. The Congress member, however, rebuked his critics further adding that he is his father's son, hence he will not compromise on his core beliefs even if his critics feel otherwise.

PM Modi acknowledges Deora's tweet 

PM Modi was quick to acknowledge Milind Deora's tweet stating that he is indeed correct in assuming that Murli Deora, Milind Deora's father, would have indeed been happy of the recent developments between India and the US. He further acknowledged Murli Deora's contribution to strengthening ties with the US. The PM took to Twitter to respond to the Congress leader's statement adding that the late Murli Deora would have been really 'glad' of the current happenings as a consequence of his strong ties with the US. The netizens hailed the conversation between the two leaders adding that this is how politics should ideally be.

Modi at Houston, Texas 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the crowd of Houston, Texas as he reached the NRG Stadium on September 22. The event was being attended by more than 50,000 people, most of them being Indian-Americans. Apart from President Donald Trump, the event hosted multiple US lawmakers, thousands of Indian-Americans and over 400 artists. PM Modi has a packed schedule with bilateral and multi-lateral agenda in the remaining days including nine key speeches at high-level summits and plurilateral engagements during the UN General Assembly session.
