A mob protesting against the lynching of 22-year-old Tabrez Ansari unleashed violence in Jharkhand's Ranchi on Friday.

Republic TV accessed visuals of the incidence wherein a violent ruckus was raised during a protest conducted by the minority community at the URS ground in Ranchi against the mob lynching wherein a bus of engineering students became a target.

The mob pelted stones at the bus carrying 50 students and even attempted to flame the vehicle. A person was even stabbed during the violent incident.

However, senior citizens from the mob pacified the situation and eventually let the bus move from there. The Police are trying to ascertain the CCTV footage and no arrests have been made yet.

In June, Ansari was lynched by a mob for allegedly stealing a motorcycle, succumbed to his injuries and died in Saraikela, Jharkhand. As per news agency ANI, Tabrej's family has alleged that the attack was communal and that he was made to chant slogans of 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Jai Hanuman' by the locals.

Ansari who was on the way home to Saraikela from Jamshedpur last Tuesday was attacked by a mob barely 5 km away from his home. As per sources, videos of him being tied to a pole and being beaten for hours for allegedly stealing a motorbike have been widely circulated. Sources also report that the mob which attacked Ansari chanting 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Jai Hanuman' had handed him over to the police after he lost consciousness.

Responding to the incident, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi accused the BJP and RSS, saying that they have successfully created a mindset where Muslims are seen as terrorists, anti-nationals and cow slaughters. Speaking to media, Owaisi further said that such incidents against the Muslim community will not stop until the BJP fulfil their Constitutional duties properly.

Meanwhile, expressing 'pain' over the incidence, PM Modi said that those responsible  must be punished by the law and will be done so, however one must not hold the entire state responsible for these issues, addressing the Rajya Sabha.
