On the second day of the informal summit, President of China Xi Jinping expressed his delight on the gracious hospitality extended by India in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu. Jinping called the meet memorable with far-reaching impacts on the Chinese people. "We are overwhelmed by the gracious hospitality and the thoughtful arrangements that the Indian side", said Jinping.

'Memorable meet with far-reaching impact'

Jinping's remarks come after Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been a host to the Chinese President, taking him on a personally guided tour of Mahabalipuram, giving intricate information on the significance of the rock-cut temples and other monuments.

"We are overwhelmed by the gracious hospitality and the thoughtful arrangements that the Indian side has made which me and my colleagues have felt that very strongly. We feel that Mr. Prime Minister, the Indian government and the state of Tamil Nadu and the people here cherish friendly sentiment towards the Chinese people, Chinese government and we really feel your sincere welcome to us during this visit. This will be a very memorable experience for us and will have a far-reaching impact for the Chinese people. I saw that the Chinese media has published a lot of articles on the friendly relations between the two countries," the Chinese President expressed.

'We have deeper strategic communication and cooperation'

Speaking about the last year's informal summit of Wuhan in China, Jinping asserted that the summit had initiated the process of steady and healthy developments between India and China. The Chinese President said, "Last year we held the first informal summit, actually the initiative was put forward by you Mr. Prime Minister and I agreed that it is a good idea. Indeed the Wuhan summit ushered the China India relations into the initial stage of healthy and steady developments. For the past one year also the informal summit continues to produce visible progress, we have deeper strategic communication and more effective practical cooperation, more diverse people to people and cultural exchanges, and we have had closer cooperation on multilateral occasions. We have made the right decision to make this kind of informal summit.
