Mohan Bhagwat to meet RSS functionaries in West Bengal, discuss organisational issues

Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of RSS will visit Kolkata on Thursday on his way to Odisha from Jharkhand. As per sources he will meet RSS functionaries to discuss organisational issues in the state. Though RSS sources said on Wednesday that Bhagwat will be in the city for a brief period, this halt by Bhagwat is seen as important amid politically charged climate in the state of West Bengal.

While the BJP is making steady inroads in Mamata Banerjee led Bengal, sources also informed that the RSS Bengal leadership had expressed their displeasure over Bengal BJP inducting leaders from TMC and other political parties without any proper check and balance.

Bhagwat in Jharkhand:

A day earlier, RSS chief was in Jharkhand's Ramrekha dham. After offering prayers in the famous dham, he expressed that he had heard a lot about the holy place and believed that he is lucky to have gotten an opportunity to pray there.  Bhagwat was invited by Mahant Umakant ji Maharaj of the dham a few months ago. Addressing the office-bearers and members of Dham Vikas Samiti, Hindu Dharma Raksha Samiti and Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bhagwat said, "Bharat ek din phir vishwa guru banega (India once again will become leader of the world)."

The Jharkhand government has taken the responsibility of developing the dham after according it the status of state-level pilgrimage centre. Legend has it that Lord Ram, Sita and Laxman had spent some days at Ramrekha dham during their 14-year exile in the forest.Their idols are placed in a huge cave there.Thousands of pilgrims congregate in the month of Kartik (November) at the dham.

As political killings in the state of West Bengal continues months after the consclusion of Lok Sabha elections, Bhagwat is a scathing reply said that the people who were killed may belong to a certain party, but calling those who protest against such killings as "outsiders" is wrong. This was a veiled reference to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who has often blamed "outsiders" for causing trouble in the state. 

"Whatever is happening in West Bengal should not happen. It is not happening in other states. If some goons and those with aggressive tendencies are resorting to this, the administration should step in to curb it. It is the duty of the state to implement law and order," Bhagwat had said. "Shall such a king be called a king? In the run-up to elections, some "neta" (political leaders) tried to divide people while pretending to be working for national integration. But people of India have rejected such tendencies," he added.

"Killings are happening there. Those killed might belong to some party, and the assailants might belong to a party or maybe goons. But to say that outsiders have come to West Bengal and whether they want to live in the state, such language is used," he said.
