"Morale of armed forces is high", says Home Minister Rajnath Singh after Pulwama encounter

The moral of armed forces in the country is high and they are achieving success in neutralising terrorists, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Monday. Home Minister's remark came after two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists were killed in an encounter in South Kashmir's Pulwama district.

The moral of armed forces in the country is high and they are achieving success in neutralising terrorists, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Monday. Home Minister's remark came after two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists were killed in an encounter in South Kashmir's Pulwama district. Addressing the media during the inauguration of Cyber Prevention Awareness and Detection (CyPAD) Centre and the National Cyber Forensic Lab (NCFL) in Dwarka on Monday, Mr Singh said:

"Despite all the situations, the morale of armed forces is high. You can see how success is being achieved in neutralising terrorists".

Furthermore, Mr Singh termed cybercrime as the biggest challenge to "a completely digital India".

The national security agencies and police will use facilities at NCFL set up under Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (ICCCC).

In a massive victory for forces on Monday, two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists were killed in an encounter in Pulwama. One of them is believed to be Jaish-e-Mohammed chief operation commander and JeM founder Masood Azhar's top aide Kamran, say sources. The second terrorist who was neutralised in the operation is identified as Hilal.

The terrorists were linked to the attack on CRPF in Pulwama's Awantipora.

The Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir police, SOG CRPF Joint operation in Pinglina carried the joint operation, say sources. One Army Major and three soldiers were martyred in the operation, sources said.

Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi was apprised of the encounter by NSA Ajit Doval and Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

The encounter has come in less than a week after one of the deadliest terror attack orchestrated by the JeM in Pulwama's Awantipora area where 40 CRPF jawans were killed. On February 14, at least 40 CRPF personnel were killed after a vehicle laden with explosives rammed an explosive-laden car into a vehicle in the CRPF convoy in Pulwama district .

Several countries from across the globe stood in support of India in the wake of a deadly terror attack.

In the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack, India also revoked the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status that was unilaterally accorded to Pakistan over 20 years ago. The government of India also resolved to isolate Pakistan on the global stage.
