Prime Minister Modi responded to Kiran Bedi's tweet on Thursday, which spoke about the importance of fitness and staying active. PM Modi praised the former Indian Police Service officer for "leading by example". The Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry celebrated National Sports Day by posting a video in which she can be seen doing yoga and working out. Emphasizing the need for including sports in an individual's life, in the 90 second video she asked people to "celebrate fitness everyday".

In her video, Kiran Bedi was seen performing various physical activities while talking about fitness stating that "Fitness is both, mind and body, it's a need. We need to celebrate fitness every day, there is no holiday in fitness. To get the best out of yourself you have to be fit everyday. The more India will be fit, the more it will be able to serve the country better, the family better, work better, fitness is an essential fruit of both mind and body." The former Indian Police Service officer tagged PMO's Twitter handle for the Fit India movement, to which the Prime Minister responded saying:

Sachin Tendulkar celebrates National Sports Day with Bollywood celebs
Sachin Tendulkar posted a video of himself playing Cricket with actor Varun Dhawan. The duo then shared inputs and helping players with suggestions on how to bowl better. Abhishek Bachchan was also present and can be seen hugging Tendulkar at the end of the play.
