Bhopal, Jun 16 (PTI) The COVID-19 tally in Madhya Pradesh rose to 7,88,809 on Wednesday after the state reported 160 fresh cases, while the death toll reached 8,649 with the addition of 34 fatalities, the Health Department said.
A total of 463 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, taking the count of recoveries in Madhya Pradesh to 7,76,887, the department said.

The state now has 3,273 active cases, it said.
With 36 new cases, Indore's caseload went up to 1,52,658, while the infection count of Bhopal rose to 1,22,904 with the addition of 47 cases, it said.

With one death each, the COVID-19 toll in Indore and Bhopal rose to 1,374 and 972, respectively.
Indore is left with 561 active cases, while Bhopal has 1,081 coronavirus patients under treatment, the department said.

As many as 25 out of total 52 districts in the state did not record any fresh case during the past 24 hours, it said.
With 72,087 new tests, the number of samples examined for coronavirus in Madhya Pradesh rose to 1,11,17,921, the department said.
