Interacting with BJP workers of Andhra Pradesh, Prime Minister Modi elaborated on how the BJP government is focusing on providing complete security to the country. While addressing that, he spoke about death penalty, national security and other security like financial and health.

"Provision of a death penalty for rape of girl child below 12 years is a landmark move in ensuring the safety of women," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday. Modi said his government was committed to ensuring all-round security of its citizens, including financial and health security.

Noting that terrorism plagued India for 40 years, the prime minister said the surgical strike against terror launch pads across the LoC was an example of its determination to tackle the menace. "Earlier the global community used to say Kashmir... Kashmir...Kashmir. Now they are saying terrorism. We want peace but know how to deal with terrorism in the language they understand. The surgical strike is an example of that," he said.

Speaking of surgical strike, during his interview on January 1, PM Modi also narrated his experience from the Surgical Strike, revealing how his foremost concern had been the safety of the forces who were part of the operation, and that the date for the strike had to be changed twice to ensure this. Ensuingly, he spoke about Pakistan, reiterating that his government, as well as its predecessors, have always been open to discussing any and all issues with Pakistan, the only caveat being:

"We only say one thing that amid the noise of bombs and guns, the dialogue cannot be heard. Cross-border terrorism must end. And we are persistently maintaining pressure on this."

He was interacting with BJP workers of Andhra Pradesh as part of 'Mera booth sabse mazboot ' outreach programme to strengthen the party organisation ahead of Lok Sabha elections due next year.
