In yet another glaring mistake for a state cabinet minister, Navjot Singh Sidhu has wished the country's 'Iron Man' Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel 'Happy Birthday' on Twitter, on his death anniversary.
Sidhu, on Saturday, tweeting from his official Twitter account said, "Happy Birthday to the Iron Man of India - Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sahab". He has went on to tag the Congress', Youth Congress' and Rahul Gandhi''s official handles. On the nation's leader 68th death anniversary, he has written about how the Congress had built a statue for the great leader, "Seven decades before Statue of Unity, Nehru had unveiled a Sardar Patel statue in Godhra."
Soon after posting this, he deleted the tweet and put out a corrected tweet, this time without the "Happy Birthday to the Iron Man of India - Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sahab".
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's death anniversary is on December 15 and his birth anniversary is on October 31.
Only a day ago, the state's Local Bodies and Cultural Affairs Minister had courted controversy, as a case has been filed against him for violating Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 with the alleged possession of a stuffed black partridge, which he later gifted to Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.
Navjot Singh Sidhu had brought the 'bird' from Pakistan during his visit in November to attend the groundbreaking ceremony of the Kartarpur corridor in the neighbouring country.
Earlier, Congress leader had faced wrath for his visit to Pakistan for Kartarpur Corridor on the invitation of PM Imran Khan. However, he had stated that he was visiting the neighbouring country in his 'personal capacity'. He also went onto shower praises on Imran Khan during the ceremony and brought up the Rafale deal when asked about his hug to Pakistan General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
