Raksha Mantri Nirmala Sitharaman has issued a clarion call to the youth of India to join the National Cadet Corps (NCC), on the occasion of National Youth Day, which has since 1984 been observed to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. 

Taking to Twitter, the minister has posted quotes of the 1863-born philosopher icon who is credited with having played a large role in the proliferation of Yoga across the globe, promotion of inter-faith awareness, and especially the concept of nationalism under the British Raj.

She has gone on to present the story of an NCC cadet who went on to become the Prime Minister of the country. That caded is, of course, Narendra Modi:
