Nitish Kumar has black flags raised against him; ink thrown on car

Bihar CM Kumar had ink thrown on his car with black flags raised in protest on Tuesday in Muzaffarpur by persons claiming to be from Garib Jankranti Party

On Tuesday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had ink thrown on his cavalcade by a group of unknown people dressed in an unfamiliar political outfit who also waves black flags in Muzaffarpur district. The incident took place near Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) when a group appeared to display black flags. The unknown group also raised anti-government slogans as the CM's car arrived.

'Individuals Taken into Custody'

"We have shown a black flag to Nitish Kumar and also threw ink on his cavalcade. We will continue to hold such programme (protest) till things are not improved at SKMCH, where people especially poor come from the far-flung area for treatment but there is no facility at all in the hospital," the outfit's president Vikas Krishna said. Two individuals have been taken into custody in connection with the incident and both of them belonged to the Garib Jankranti Party, police sources said. Nitish Kumar was in Muzaffarpur to participate in a function at the medical college to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone.

Sanjay Paswan Takes a Jibe at the Bihar CM

BJP leader Sanjay Paswan on September 22 took a jibe at the Bihar CM by saying, "Some people are high on arrogance and assume that Bihar is functioning because of them. Some people are under the illusion that Bihar is functioning because of them. They should learn simplicity from Bhola Paswan Shastri." He also claimed that some politicians have become shameless nowadays.

Predicts Landslide Victory

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has predicted a landslide victory for NDA in the assembly polls due next year and asserted that those trying to create a rift between his JD(U) and alliance partner BJP will be in trouble. Nitish Kumar also urged his party-men to avoid reacting to "slanderous" remarks made against him. "I would advise my party spokesmen, do not get drawn into all this. Avoid reacting to every slanderous remark that may be made against me," he said.
