WHY HAS THE MOVE BEEN TAKEN BY INDIAN RAILWAYS ?

The move is to ensure that the food vendor provides the bill for any item purchased by the passengers. Additional changes also include a Point of Sale (POS) machine so that a swift transaction is processed. It will also ensure enough transparency related to the passenger's purchase. People welcomed the move and lauded IRCTC and Goyal's efforts. Read some of the comments here:

"Good move by IRCTC and Piyush Goyal. This controls the overpricing. It will be great add on if it's made an e-bill to phone no. provided by passenger instead of hard copy. Saves paper and decreases the waste too!!

"This was much needed. Hopefully, this will be implemented with great efficiency."

Kudos to Piyush Goyal for taking a big step to educate passengers and ensure transparency."
